The Poetice School of Justice & Mission is a training school based in Choma, Zambia. It is designed to train leaders to empower the Church to fight for Justice in communities all around the globe. The curriculum includes training in spiritual formation, leadership development, missiology, multicultural ministry, and practical missions.

The strength of our classroom is found in the diversity of our students.

At our school, you will learn about Jesus, leadership, and justice in a uniquely diverse, multicultural, interdenominational environment designed to allow you to experience new ways of thinking about the world around you. Your peer group will be a mixture of individuals who grew up in extreme poverty and extreme affluence, each with a wide range of experiences, various cultural and religious upbringings, and unique, valuable perspectives that will help shape your experience throughout the school term. By mixing students together in this way, it breaks down any preconceived notions and expands the way we see ourselves, our God and this beautiful world we live in.

In this new type of classroom, the dynamic changes. As you walk in relationships with one another and share your experiences, you will learn about injustice and justice in new ways. Theology becomes praxis. Through your peers, you will learn about forgiveness and mercy, and it will inspire you to grow in your faith as you learn to treat those around you with grace, kindness, and love.

Our foundational curriculum is crafted to train students to be vibrant disciples of Jesus Christ, equipped to partner with God to cultivate a world flourishing with justice and righteousness. The whole world is our mission field and our curriculum is designed to be applied anywhere.

LECTURE

Incredible teachers from around the globe instruct in one of the School’s foundational curriculum topics each week. Each teacher spends five days of lecture with the students and shares his or her insights, expertise, heart and stories. Every week a new teacher will be with the students throughout the duration of the school.

MINISTRY

Throughout the 12-week term, students will be given an opportunity to apply what they are learning by joining the ongoing efforts of Poetice in Zambia to seek holistic restoration in the community. Students will visit families in their homes, facilitate youth camps, leadership conferences and serve in our weekly children’s, youth and adult ministry. WORSHIP

Over the course of 12 weeks, students will present themselves to God in worship and prayer. During this time, students will return their love to Him and respond to the things He has been teaching them through lectures, ministry, and relationships. In His presence, the Holy Spirit will convict and speak to hearts while revealing truth and revelation. Allowing Him to be their ever-present guide, our students will be constantly seeking God in prayer over all school activities; the communities we are reaching out to, our friends, and our peers.

OUTREACH

Within the school, each student will also experience a 10-day outreach outside of Choma, Zambia. Some outreach locations are within Zambia, while others will cross the borders into a neighboring nation. Outreach gives students a focused time to see God move as they minister to His people. This allows students to serve and support the global Church while gaining exposure to how the Church is serving Her people in Sub-Saharan Africa.
